November 1979: Laying the foundation
Laying of the foundation stone for B.M.P. Bulk Medicines & Pharmaceuticals GmbH in Hamburg-Duvenstedt. With just a few employees, the company began to trade in pharmaceutics worldwide.
Experienced product specialists and personnel with profound and country-specific expertise were employed. This was the reason for the relocation to a larger office in Hamburg-Barmbek.
Among other things, the steadily increasing demands of a global market also required the provision and distribution of goods. A suitable office and warehouse site was found in Hamburg-Farmsen and relocation took place in August following completion of the firm’s own building with integrated storage space of approx. 600 m2
Founding of bmp production gmbh initially in Hamburg.
Completion of the production plant in Parchim, relocation of the office of bmp production GmbH to Parchim. Commissioning of the first micronisation plant.
Founding of the joint-stock company: B.M.P. Pharma Trading AG.
Initial public offering of B.M.P. Pharma Trading AG. The first trading day for the shares was on April 28, 2000, in the free market segment of the Stuttgart stock exchange.
Founding of the B.M.P. Pharma Trading Corporation in Nashville/ Tennessee.
Moving office after completion of the own current corporate headquarter in Hamburg-Norderstedt with an integrated 2.400 m² warehouse.
Nomination of Henning A. Nau as 2nd Managing Director of B.M.P. Bulk Medicines & Pharmaceuticals GmbH.
A quality management system was set up at BMP at the end of 2003, which was certified at the beginning of 2004 in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
Confirmation of GMP compliance through the competent pharmacovigilance agency in Schleswig-Holstein. Granting of manufacturing authorisation according to Section 13 of the German Medicines Act (AMG) as well as import authorisation according to Section 72 AMG.
Founding of BMP Biotec GmbH in Hamburg-Norderstedt with Henning A. Nau as Managing Director. Renowned scientists from the fields of chemistry, biology and process engineering focus on the development and production of substances based on biotechnology.
Appointment of Peter R. Wieland as Commercial Manager of B.M.P. Bulk Medicines & Pharmaceuticals GmbH.
BMP celebrates it's 30th birthday.
BMP Biotec GmbH awarded ISO certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2008 (PDF).
BMP GmbH once again attains GMP certification.
BMP GmbH certified/recognised as Acknowledged Economical Operator (AEO).
BMP concludes contract manufacturing agreement with a Chinese partner, in order to produce naturally fermented products in China.
Appointment of Mr Nau to the Management Board of BMP Pharma Trading AG.
Kosher und Halal certification of the Chinese cooperation plant.
BMP GmbH re-certified according to ISO 9001:2008.
BMP GmbH again awarded GMP certification.

Change in the Supervisory Board
The vice-chairman of the board, Dr. Jürgen Scheer, resigned as a member of the board of directors at the end of the annual shareholders’ meeting on July 07, 2016.
Since founding of the BMP Pharma Trading AG, Dr. Scheer supported and accompanied the board actively.We are grateful for his trustful cooperation during the past years and his outstanding commitment.
For the future we wish him the very best and above all good health and well-being.
We are glad to have found a competent successor in Mr. Lothar Heitmann.
The Management Board and Directorate
The most significant precondition for a reliable and secure partnership is the responsible handling of raw materials. Quality is the most important aspect of responsible handling by our employees. In order to meet the high quality standards and secure these standards in the long-term, a team of experts has undertaken to ensure consistent compliance with all relevant directives.
At the end of 2003, BMP implemented a quality management system which was certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 at the beginning of 2004 and has been reviewed at regular intervals since then.
In December 2006 the competent pharmacovigilance agency in Schleswig-Holstein confirmed BMP’s GMP compliance by granting us manufacturing authorisation pursuant to Section 13 and import authorisation pursuant to Section 72 of the German Medicines Act (AMG). We have a corresponding GMP certificate.
In addition, on November 2, 1983, BMP GmbH obtained authorisation to trade in narcotics and basic substances according to the Commodities Control Act.
In the case of active substances and raw materials, which come under the scope of REACH (phase-in substances), our internal REACH representative ensures proper pre-registration/transfer of these to the registration phase. We will be happy to provide relevant documentation on the pre-registration of the individual substances upon request.
In April 2017 we have been certified by the officially recognized organic inspection body Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH (Code number DE-ÖKO-001). We can offer a steadily growing number of extracts and raw materials for the health- und food industry in organic quality.
