Bernd-Michael Jörß (born in 1941) began his apprenticeship as an export merchant in 1958 and came to pharmaceuticals trading in 1965.

Thanks to his good contacts abroad, specifically in the US and Mexico, Mr. Jörß was granted the opportunity to found in 1974 the Hamburg branch of the American H. Reisman Corporation, which he managed for five years.

Then, in 1979, Mr. Jörß’ courage and finely-tuned business sense for markets, opportunities and products led him to lay the foundations for his own international concern and he founded B.M.P. Bulk Medicines & Pharmaceuticals GmbH, initially with just a handful of employees.

Challenges are a great passion of his and so new ones had to be found:
foundation of bmp production gmbh in Parchim in 1993, then BMP Pharma Trading AG, which was founded in 1998 and went public in 2000. BMP Pharma Corporation was founded in the US in 2001.

Building, developing, expanding – Mr. Jörß’ second great passion – led to the foundation of our current building in Norderstedt in 2003. The storage options have multiplied and the close connection to Hamburg Airport boost the flexibility that make Mr. Jörß and thereby the company B.M.P. GmbH.
